Hello! My name is Darsh Patel, and I joined this project because I wanted to learn more about Asian-American History and the variety of immigration stories that came along with that. A fact about me is that I grew up in Grosse Pointe Farms and then moved to Bloomfield Hills when I was in the 4th grade. Another fun fact is that I am on the varsity tennis team for Bloomfield Hills High School.
He was born in a very small village in India and later grew up in the large city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Raised in a Hindu family, he was deeply influenced by her upbringing, particularly by his father, who served as a doctor in a small village.
In 2001, he moved to the United States, where he pursued her studies to become a physical therapist. Over time, he transitioned into becoming both an author and a business owner.
His work centers on themes of promoting enlightenment, building resilience through struggle, and encouraging others to take risks in pursuit of their future.
Ambika was born in a small southern town called Pattambi in Kerala, India, where education was deeply valued in her family. Her marriage brought her to the United States, where she focused on building her career and worked hard to earn her physical therapy license.
In her early years in the country, she faced experiences of racism, but continued to persevere and eventually received multiple awards from Henry Ford Physical Therapy. She was also diagnosed with cancer several times, facing each challenge with resilience.
Today, she owns a tutoring center in Birmingham, Michigan. Her story reflects themes of hard work, overcoming adversity, and the South Asian immigrant experience.
